Lemme Tell You A Secret

Lean Close,
Let me whisper in your ear,
Allow the bitter-sweet lies sting your heart.
Let me kiss you softly,
Let the wind blow my soft voice to your heart,
Allow yourself to believe my words.

I promise this isn’t a lie,
I swear I mean it forever,
I love you.
Maybe I’m a Cynic,
or maybe I’m scared,
maybe the lion tame has become wary of lion’s teeth.

To me,
You just whispered,
I promise I will hurt you,
I swear it will last only a week,
Infatuation.

Now,
it’s my turn.
Lean Close,
Let me whisper in your ear,
Allow the bitter-sweet lies sting your heart.

I don’t love you.

Never again will I say I love you,
as an automatic reply.
No more,
“I love you too” crap.

In my head,
I do love someone,
I loved him from the beginning,
And I will to the very end.
I promise.

But still,
I’ve made that lie,
many times.

Even while a boy I only saw on my street,
circled my head,
filled my thoughts,
from the moment I saw him.

I still said,
the words that will kill.
I love you.

(:
