Her Sun

The bright orange of his hearth
his warmth,
a solar flare restarting her cold heart.

Sunburns scorch her tainted cheeks
but she stays,
forever revolving around him-
never getting closer,
never stopping,
her face always turned away.

They share a heart shrouded in mystery
an eternal embrace never complete.
the expanse of the universe between them,
and it's more than distance
always too much.

He cannot escape his path
a destiny to follow
an orbit
and she cannot sway herself
her hold too weak
the tether too strong

but they have love,
and it's all that they need.

The End
