A rubai poem.
Lovely crocus raises its slumbering head and reaches toward blue skies
As blue bird builds her nest, singing her song as she flies,
Expectant of the fresh scented rain that promises to wash winter leaves away.
Silky soft petals bud anew on once naked limbs as the dark winter day dies.
Author's Note: A ruba‘i is a four-line poem following a specific meter, in which lines one, two, and four follow the same rhyme pattern (aaba).
