Just So
From quiet longing trapped within a mind,
A perfect cadence cut into the source.
Emotive release that saw the unwind
Of long-kept secrets, freed with little force.
Him, her eager passion personified;
Conventions of attraction mocked, dismissed.
Entranced by the authority kind-eyed,
She lurched into confession whilst amidst
The melancholy. She'd never have thought
Reciprocation stood the slightest chance;
Society itself would damn the sort
Of subtle beauty in the poets' dance.
Such love does not need questioning of 'why',
Yet even so, she hears the woodwind sigh.
