Didn't you in the past defend
What you once believed to be right
Rebelled against the whole world
for your beliefs a fire ignite
Then with the passage of time
it then made you realize
the your belief in that folly
had been most unwise
Could we have blamed it on immaturity?
Perhaps on vanity assign the blame?
If only we had opened our eyes
wouldn't now be appalled with this shame
But that is the burden of youth
that one carries into dotage
But it now renders one impotent
to die with that burning rage
