It Is Two Flowers I Think Of

A villanelle written for twin girls.

You reside in my heart and mind,
Two flowers tended with great love.
Over miles we are still entwined.

In great actions we are defined.
You were carried North by white doves.
You reside in my heart and mind.

Would I change the past? Hit rewind?
It is two flowers I think of.
Over miles we are still entwined.

For my faith I was paid in kind.
Beauty filled the air from above.
You reside in my heart and mind.

Dark were the days--the last night shined!
No longer sorrow to speak of.
Over miles we are still entwined.

You now grow, no longer confined.
Life is rich and full--hand fits glove.
You reside in my heart and mind.
Over miles we are still entwined.

The End
