Is This Really The Life?

I wish there was something that I could say
about the world we live in today
about how we all stuck together through thick and thin
the young and old no matter the shade of skin.

But to say thought things would be to lie
this world is not like that, and I don't know why
Instead its just fighting and murder and death
Innocent people caught, taking their last breath.

Schoolchildren being murdered in a place that should be safe
Teens shot on the street for another persons chafe
People disappearing to keep dirty secrets quiet
Is it any wonder people stand up and start to riot?

Don't judge a person for the colour that they are
Or the tattoos they wear, or old faded scars
Don't judge a person on their gender or their age
Because we are all human, we should be all on the same page.

The End
