A Yellow Canary

A yellow canary
Sitting in a cage.
It sings so beautifully,
But only for its master.
The yellow bird longs to escape,
To share his song
Sing loud for all to hear.
The master wants to share,
But hesitates.
Will he come back?
Will he get hurt?
Will anyone even listen?
So the bird stays in his cage.
His song,
Once bright and happy
Now becomes slow and sad.
Until the bird stops singing,
Why should he?
Days go by,
Until one day
The master opens the cage.
The canary sits on his shoulder,
And sings a merry tune.
Now everywhere the master goes,
The bird goes too,
Singing his song for all to hear.

The End
