Inheritance

My view on the recent riots in London based on my knowledge of the situation through articles and the news.

The fires in the city rage; points of light

As though to try and mirror the stars in the night.

The fingers point, without a doubt "It's the youths" they say.

Tearing up the streets to take what, in two arms, they can hold.

Tearing up their lives, because we won't give them the light of day.

Seventeen, robbed a shop; "You can't have a job." He's told.

Brewing hatred, his inheritance that is here to stay.

The End
