Infrequently Enough

What is the feeling,

That makes this organ

Beat like a drum?

That won’t admit breath

To reach my lungs?

Infrequently enough,

To stir things up,

To keep the fire burning.

It’s not just

Two bodies meeting,

When lips touch or of hearts beating

It’s that feeling

Of two two souls

Finally meeting

Greeting

And spending an evening.

Infrequently enough

To stir things up

To keep each other yearning.

For a feeling

That stays on the tip of the tongue,

In peripheral vision,

A faint hum

Infrequently enough,

To stir things up,

To keep each other learning

You can’t trust

Without believing

You can keep the butterflies from leaving

The End
