In Search Of Hidden Gold

It's about wondering whether what you want is worth going through the mill to get it

I gave my nights to chase something that was broken

The days filled my heads with waking horrors

And dark words as yet unspoken

I cast glances wearily towards the direction of my destination

Only when I looked at my reflection

Revealing a weary soul corrupted

Did I see how much I truly self destructed

I walked on, on tired legs in search of hidden gold

Racked with helplessness, the distance is endless

And all that exists within me is an echo of a soul

Someday I know I’ll be truly alive

Away from the chase, and not as a shadow

But there’s never an easy way out

Will I even live to see tomorrow?

The End
