I'm Not Proud

Someone told me I must have been proud to hurt him. I really wasn't, and I'm sorry.

I'm not proud
You don't understand
I know what I did
Yet you give me this brand.

I'm not proud
I don't know what to say
Don't jump down my throat
I've had enough of today.

I'm not proud
In fact I'm rather resentful
Of what I did
No need to be so hateful.

I'm not proud
My cheeks burn with shame
I'm not cruel enough
To play a sick and twisted game.

I'm not proud
Who do you think you are?
Your words are destroying me
A permanent tarnish, an ugly scar.

I'm not proud
My world's fallen down.
All because of me
I'm not proud, I'm not proud.

The End
