If You Have Eyes At All

I stare out through this frosted window

As you mortals are pushing me down

Can't you see it's you who's so wrong?

I wonder if you will ever see

If you have eyes at all

And why are you so alone?*

Because the light is fading now,

And I can't see a thing from where I stand

... From where I stand!

Can you ease this mist I'd be glad,

But I don't know if I'd remember your deed

Perhaps you should leave me like this

... Leave me like this!

This fortress of mine, I cannot hold it for long

The bricks are falling piece and by piece

I assume it's just ruins by now...

Why can't you see the earth is twirling around me

And I am too weak to hear

Your callings of care

I can't help this grief that I feel

And I am to weak to see

There is a soul behind your dead eyes

Are you really so shallow-hearted?

Can't you see what I've become

These are the last things you'll hear

Before I turn my back upon you

... Turn upon you!

And even if I know it can get eased up

When I finally leave,

I remain so bitter and cold,

Like the rock under your shoe.

... Under your shoe!

I stare out through this frosted window

As the world is slowly drowning me

Can't you see it has been enough?

I wonder if you will ever see

If you have eyes at all

The End
