If I had never met you

If you and I had never met

There would be nothing to forget,

But surely there would be a gap;

A space upon my lifetime's map.

Those little gems that you impart -

Small bits of knowledge. And my heart

Would miss you in some tiny way,

Without your presence in my day.

This world is so immense and wide,

I treasure knowing you, with pride.

If I had not encountered you

I'd miss a lot, and that is true.

I would not have your laugh, your grin,

Your kind eyes, or your stubbly chin

Imprinted on my memory.

I'm so glad you are friends with me.

The End
