rhyme 1

If I could write, then my world
would be a vast and wonderous thing.
I'd stand on any mountain,
on the top of which I'd sing.

If I could write, then I would be
a princess fine and fair.
An evil witch would search for me,
as she sits hiding in her lair.

If I could write, then I would own
a great land so far away.
The people there would call me King,
and they would never be dismayed.

If I could write, then I would have
a fierce dragon of great stature.
We'd be friends and do some good,
like punish damsel snatchers.

If I could write, then I would live
ten thousand leagues beneath the sea.
I'd spend my days with fishes,
floating carelessly and free.

If I could write, then I would be
an adventurer of such magnitude;
making discoveries worthwhile;
an explorer with an attitude.

If I could write, then I would try
my hand at wrangling crocs.
They'd thrash and buck but I would win!
My mother, always shocked.

If I could write, I'd be a bird,
and fly into the wind.
The silence here is beautiful;
The noise below, rescind.

If I could write, then I would jump
to the moon and take a walk.
I wouldn't be too lonely;
it's the stars to whom I'd talk.

If I could write, I would be
in so many different places.
But p'raps I'd do it and still be me;
A girl with many faces.

The End
