If I were Smart

If I were smart,

I'd walk away.

I'd say I love you,

then we'd part ways.

I'd move forward,

forgetting the past,

but loving you is a pain in the ass.

I can't leave,

I'd rather stay.

And were smart,

I'd move on.

I'd kiss you goodbye and I'd be gone.

If I were smart,

I'd let you go.

But we already know

that's not going to happen.

I'm just not that smart.

The End
