if i could write you a poem
if i could write you a poem
maybe then i'd be fine
i could
bury my head in the verses
string my heart up between
the lines
knock on your door with
words made of metaphor
dive deep inside, then
hide
behind boulders of description
painting abstract pictures of
what you might mean to me
possibly
throw simile rocks
at your window and
when you approach, suddenly
expose my soul
without rhythm or rhyme
i'm
not sure what you'd think of me
but
if i could write you a poem
maybe then i'd see
