Lips shining with precious metals, all plated over in silver and gold,

So lifeless and cold; you've always sparkled like a dying star, an icon of

Dead space and emptiness; hatred spans for a million miles, they will find you

Anywhere you are.

Mascara and bloodstains; paint a pretty face and watch it drown in

Camera flashes and cheap cocaine; they numb the pain with pointless celebration;

Diamonds and lipstick and worthless sex,

Glitter-coated middle-page degradation.

One night stands and glam-rock bands, watch it all wash away

Like makeup, and then pray for redemption all over again; on your knees

For make-believe gods or to receive a different kind of

Expiration-date "love."

The End
