I Wear The Mask

Recommend

I wear this mask to hide the truth

Watch it smile, isn't it cute?

Its eyes that glitter, its teeth like pearls

Watch me blend in with the other girls.

Why should the world know what I feel?

If I don't show it, it isn't real.

Yes, it's better, by far, to rein your feelings in.

Why should I feel guilty? This is no sin.

No sin to hide what the world would just reject

No sin to cover, no sin to protect

That which I love and hold most dear.

I wear this mask to hide my fears.
