I remember....

Recommend

I remember the day you first lied to me,

The promise we lost,

The hurting beat,

What hurt the most?

           *

I remember the promise you made us,

The faith removed,

The glass to shush,

The hurt unsoothed.

        *

I remember your grey old eyes,

The light had gone,

your glimmer dies,

With each glass 'number one'.

      *

I remember it all as it then was,

The has been,

The childhood loss,

the beating unseen.

Author guidance for This poem

HannahB As I've said before, I'm not a poet, I'm deffinetly a prose writer, but I get these odd little glimmers which fit far more into poems than a story! xoxo
