I am from

It is a poem made from a list of things that in my eyes, made me who I am and contributed to my personality, faith and morals.

I AM FROM THE OLD LADIES IN ST. MICHAELS THAT I WOULD SIT WITH

I AM FROM THE STAIR LIFT THAT BROUGHT SUCH JOY TO KIDS

I AM FROM MASH POTATO AT LUNCH SERVED WITH AN ICE CREAM SCOOP

I AM FROM SPENDING TIME WITH MY GRANNY, AND BEING SAD TO LEAVE, BUT EXCITED ABOUT THE NEXT DAY.

I AM FROM A BUSY KITCHEN TABLE IN MY GRANDMOTHERS HOUSE.

I AM FROM THE SOUND OF MY SCREAMING COUSINS IN THE GARDEN.

I AM FROM THE SMELL OF THE FAMILY’S SATURDAY MEAL.

I AM FROM THE GIRL TALK BETWEEN MY MOTHER, AUNTS, GRANNY AND ME.

I AM FROM THE PEBBLE BEACHES STRETCHED ACROSS OUR CITY.

I AM FROM THE ROCKS I WOULD JUMP OFF WITH MY FRIENDS.

I AM FROM BRIGHTON PIER ON A SATURDAY AFTERNOON.

I AM FROM BRIGHTON LAINES FILLED WITH GYPSY SHOPS AND HIDDEN WONDERS.

I AM FROM SKETCH BOOKS I WOULD SPEND HOURS DRAWING IN.

I AM FROM THE COOKING LESSONS MY GRANDMOTHER GAVE ME.

I AM FROM THE GIGGLES I WOULD GET WITH MY GRANNY.

I AM FROM THE SMELL OF MY GRANDDADS TOBACCO.

I AM FROM CHRISTMAS AND EASTER AT PRINCES CRESCENT

I AM FROM SUMMERS WHEN MY COUSINS WOULD COME TO BRIGHTON

I AM FROM SATURDAY NIGHTS AT PRINCES CRESCENT

I AM FROM A STRONG FAMILY, BRIGHTON, AND HAPPINESS.

The End
