Honey

I missed your last words as you walked away
my heart overflowed with sadness you could never imagine
Soon the hours will pass, I’ll be lying in my bed
hoping you will pick up the phone and give me a call

I wrote you a letter yesterday, but I kept it locked away
as the pen traced upon the paper, defining the emotions
how I felt for you could never be repeated
How you recognised the pain I held as a burden

Are you as shy as me, so quiet I was enamoured
We held hands in the glimmer of the carnival lights
Cheap lighting shines in your azure eyes
and I never want the moment to end

The End
