This is for a friend, the strongest and bravest person I know.

The world, awash in golden sunlight

yet inside are darkened clouds.

A smile, fleeting and shy,

yet in your eyes I see fear.

"I'm fine." You say.

Even though no one truly is.

The courage and strength that I see in you,

a fragile frame to hold you up.

But slowly the pressure is building,

thin frame breaking,

and nothing I can do to hold you up.

All the king's horses and all the king's men,

Couldn't put Humpty together again...

I wish I could but glue the fractures up,

re-sew the torn heart.

I watch the Hollow feed on you,

on your soul and on your joy.

It has taken my friends before now,

I won't let it take you too.

The End
