A smile a mile long

Daddy’s coming home you yell

Your mother cries

You wonder why

Daddy’s coming home you yell

Shut up your bother yells

The tears welling in his eyes

Don’t you know

He’s coming home in a box

And you cry

Because your daddy

Won’t ever be coming home

He died in a foreign land

Fighting a war he had nothing to do with
