Hide away

These days, morosely, I so often feel
that the grass is greener on the other side
Sadly when the situation can't be remedied
from this madness I then wish to hide

To have this cloak of invisibility
at opportune moments to become unseen
while bystanders watch in befuddlement
amongst conspiratorial conversations - to drop in

Sadly from this world we can’t hide away
so from ourselves we burrow within
like the undead we inhabit these streets
each person an island of broken dreams

The End
