Heaven is a Hive Mind

Heaven is a hive mind
I crack myself open,
The nectar seeps
(We are weeping),
All the words
I couldn’t make you feel
(So saccharine)
Pooled in the back of my skull
Like so much saltwater,
A drop in the ocean, I fall
To my knees, carpet-burnt, stinging
Like our swollen eyes, honey-combed,
Opening as one
To clarity, liquid gold
Determined to fly, misshapen as we are
Here I am queen,
Biting myself
Free, from beeswax, my cell
We eat only honey,
We kiss only flowers

The End
