Hearts On The Scrapheap

It's about someone who is in love, but the one they love doesn't feel the same

He was nice to me, maybe a little too easy

He curses himself by falling in love

In a town like this, we can't afford mistakes

Spread the news, another failure

Another heart to toss on the scrapheap

The train's gone and I'm standing bemused

Because he was just another punchbag to be used

They say love is blind and it's crashing into the wall

Embarrassed and weary smiles, acknowledging the fall

Hearts on the scrapheap

Close your eyes and leap

Hearts on the scrapheap

Another day, another cloud on the street

A weekend break, a nice day away

The sunshine bakes as we play

He misses me, he loves me

But we let's face the facts

Eyes are blind, presumptions made

Even if the truth cuts like blades

Hearts on the scrapheap

Close your eyes and leap

Hearts on the scrapheap

Another day, another cloud on the street

The doors have shut, and the train darts into the distance

Well done, another applause for a shoddy performance

It's one excuse after the other

Even I don't believe it this time

Hearts on the scrapheap

Close you eyes and leap

Hearts on the scrapheap

Another day, another cloud on the street

The End
