Haunting Reflection

Her face was blatantly showing her age
Despite her daily regimen to keep unblemished
The years she tried so hard to erase
Until this became to her a tiresome fetish

Only on certain days would she venture
to hide from people, sometimes the sun
to the masses she remained an enigma
forever becoming the reclusive one

She couldn't arrest the passage of time
She vowed never to see herself again
glasses, mirrors , pictures all destroyed
any reflection that could cause her pain

Till this day she haunts any person
who looks to his reflection perhaps to gloat
While the person is admiring his features
silently, slowly she slits his throat

The End
