The sirens call

Sounding an alarm

That makes ears buzz.

The bright lights

Against the dark night

Are out of place.

Driving on

In the ambulance,

Eyes fixed upon

The cold, motionless body

That is your sister’s;

The ride forever known

As endless.

Reach the hospital

Running frantically,

Doctors and nurses

Rush to her aid.

Are they tired?

Pointless sitting

In a blank white waiting room

Doing nothing

While she is suffering.

Tears prick your eyes:

She's not coming back.

Watch as something golden

Flutters past,

Its wings moving quickly.

Watch as it seeps into your heart.

The End
