how an article of clothing works to disguise and conceal the inner soul

A hat

perched on a head

cast a face in shadow

cut portrait into

two slices.

Cloth wings

hid the personality

while giving the face

a mask from which

to study the world

under the great cover of the

wide brim.

Frail glass

of the one way window:

they saw the perfect her

while she saw the imperfectness

of them.

The End
