Has love died?

Love in this new age.

Perhaps the notion a tad bit quaint
But does anyone elope in this modern age?
Now with freedom to live as they please
and all forms of liberty now encouraged

Do we even love on a pedestal put?
or has it lost its celestial charms
become an emotion purely of need
commercialized,packaged, even farmed

Do lovers still die a tragic death?
Whom do they dedicate their sonnets to?
Is there tenderness when they're together?
or deep sorrow when they bid adieu?

Perhaps love has taken a form too strange
Who knows whether it will survive
Perhaps with time only become extinct
no longer a force to keep us alive

The End
