Happy Valentine's Day

Sweetheart it’s been a lovely year
but Christmas time has cleaned me out
You need to disappear
Don’t hate me, you just don’t inspire
the poetry that won so much adulation
that has now begun to tire

Remember we kissed on the sea shore?
Neither do I, but that’s what I wrote
because you was such a bore
There’s only so many adjectives I can write
before the whole point of love
becomes a malicious slight

Honey, if you only knew of the pain
of writers block in early Spring
but you won’t let me complain
But I did my best to appease
your constant need of affection
so can we breakup please?

The End
