Walking up towards the city

Walking up to the blinding lights

Walking up to make your mark 

 

Someday you’ll be there

Someday your name will be on them

Someday everyone will see your face lit up

 

The exhilarating rush of the city

Cars racing past

People bustling around with their everyday lives

 

Cell phones buzz

People talk

Cars honk

 

Silence has lost the battle against noise

 

Signs light the path towards everything

Fancy cursive reads the name of shops

Stores whisper to you beckoning you to enter

 

Everything seems to happen within the borders of

 

neon lights
