The black dog

Swallows me hole

Turns my world dark

Black

Miserable

And it chokes me

Can’t quite escape

Not on my own

And I’m flailing about

Screaming

Pleading for help

So alone

So scared

So lost

But suddenly you’re here

And you rescue me

Back into the light

Make me smile again

Laugh

For the first time today
