Gladiators

The roman civilization went for 500 years
Wonder just how long will ours last?
appear civilized, as barbarians disguised
quite ignoring the lessons of the past

Like the romans and their arenas
our society simply thirsts for more
We're a step away from blood and guts
the people so lust for gore

We pay to watch men fight each other
while claiming its a martial sport
with women too now joining the fight
while the crowd rises in support

Ave, Imperator, morituri te salutant
these modern gladiators so cry
Blood is split, a victor emerges
the crowd in admiration sighs

The End
