The End

that night it happened, while I was passing through
arriving at your residence, hoping I might see you

but the window was empty, just as before
a heartbreaking feeling, to see you no more

a flower in my grasp, eyes beginning to burn
I gaze at the window, wishing for your return

legs heavy as lead, I commence my retreat
imagine my surprise, to see a girl in the street!

a reflection of my darling, so lovely and fair
colorful summer dress on, ribbons in her hair

gently weeping was she, alone at such an hour
desiring to deliver cheer, I offer her the flower

wrapping arms around me, this I cannot contrive
the girl in the window, my dear you are alive!

walking hand in hand, our voices full of laughter
free to love each other, living happily ever after

The End
