What keeps your gears in motion
Ignoring nourishment, entertainment and the ripples of loves potion
For me, its vegetation growing brisk and defiant
Yes weeds, vast in expanse and never compliant
They shoot up no matter the odds that are against them
Be it chemicals, slashing, hand-picked for pressing or through ingestion
Resilience of the organic kind
Serves as a good lesson for all astray in their own minds
Diverse in their physical embodiment and place of emergence
Much like people, may serve a purpose or simply exist just to act with pure nuisance
Ongoing, they persist, and will always hold strong
Undoubtedly, they will be the first visible proof of life, when earth is barren and all matter have bid so-long.

The End
