Fumbling, Swirling

Fumbling, swirling; circling, musing; floundering, bleeding; willing, beating. A poem about love and sacrifice.

A gentle whisper in the ocean breeze
Breaks the quiet darkness, fumbling
Pale hands pressing into the sand
And swirling under a watchful moon

Sweet breath murmurs only to me
A tryst, a promise slowly circling
Transcendent to my pleading hands
And musing under a watchful moon

Within my blackness I hear the pleas
Of your small heart, weak, floundering
Slow sweet sacrifice is mine to stand
And lie bleeding under a watchful moon

This peaceful smile creeps out to sea
Slipped lightly from my face, willing
That I might die and your heart expand
And go on beating under a watchful moon

The End
