From The Inside

Recommend

It's slowly closing in on her
The choking realisation that all is lost
She finds no escape instead
She wallows in the blackest flames
Though she is unharmed
She is acqainted with it

Her collapse is impending
As she loses her sight
Of all that is good in this world
The streetlight colours her breakdown
In the void she strives
In the void she dies inside

I thought I knew her well
But I had no idea
I tried to reach out to her
but she wasn't really there
Instead she left me a letter
as she sank deeper into the abyss

It's breaking her down from the inside
There's nothing more to say now
I bid her farewell with the agonising thought
That I will never see her again
