You Held Me With Tomorrow

Its sweet,
This bitter irony that's dripping off my tongue
That I might have possibly found the one I want
But every time you come to mind,
I have to count to five

But I've always lived in increments
And bits and pieces of lost time
(And parts and particles,
Are all that remain of my fabricated lies)
So I wait

Five
Six
Seven
Eight

I'm tired of counting,
Aren't you?
I want to show you me and you
No longer dreaming in two dimensions

Hands entwined
Hearts
I want to know what you feel like,
Close to me,
The scent of your cologne

Dreams can only pretend.

Eight
Seven
Six
Five

Have you been counting on me?
Backwards
Rewind, clock out
I'm still asleep

Spent my whole life reminiscing about the Future
Wondering about an empty Present
Dying in third person

But you held me with Tomorrow

Rescue(d) me
From the walls I'm building
Save(d) me from my crumbling Infinity
Its been awhile since I noticed
The sunshine

Dreams leave out so many details
And we just can't stop for Death

The End
