Forever is Sweet

A woman remembers what could have been.

I see his hair,

Brown as the earth we walk on,

I see the bumps on his nose,

The curve in his lips,

Snow white skin,

Soft and delicate against mine,

We touch,

I taste his breath,

Smokey and subtle,

I miss these moments,

Gone is the man I remember,

I stand by the soil where he lies,

Sleeping in any other world,

I lay a white rose on the freshly moved earth,

The goodbye lasted forever,

If only we could have lasted forever.

The End
