Forever and Always

I know the title sounds like that depressing Taylor Swift song , but no. This poem came to me the other night, when I was reading one of my favorite books. It's about a couple that is running away together so that they can be together for the rest of their lives.

Wait for me under the blossoming bud of the apple tree in the wood

I'll wear my best dress as to catch your eye

Wishing with all of my being for your presence

A warmth that could never be replaced by anything other than

An oh-so-tender touch, entwining our delicate souls together

Like a patch of intricately laced threads

Taking the form of a beautifully embroidered cloth

Once you come to me and we say our simple hellos

I'll whisper the sweet desires of my heart

Secrets which have made home in the depths of my soul for decades

We'll run away together on this crisp autumn afternoon

Together forever...

The End
