For Just One Moment

For Just One Moment

She wanted to return

to the complete relaxed state,

where her mind would no longer race.

The rain is ongoing and appears to never cease

but she doesn’t complain as

it washes over the earth

and scrubs at the demons

consuming her soul.

The soft, comfort

coming from the melodious sound

of the even breaths next to her

keep her warm

but soon the urge will come to stir

and disrupt the tranquility

to bring in the cold that we call reality.

The End
