flowers in the city

Paris is filled with flowers and many, many people who enjoy them.

Floral air has texture
like soft curling balls
from the rind of a melon.
More delicious
than any potent smoke
that I've inhaled.

The city slows at dusk
to savor the wandering sweetness.
Passersby grin to catch each other
ease to an ambling pace,
drinking in the air.

The End
