Flight of Fancy
I thought I would just fly away
Be like a bird for a year and a day
No more worries, no more fears
No more laughter, no more tears
Just the wind, the heat and the rain
No one to discourage the thoughts in my brain
And then I remembered:
Predators: snakes, eagles, hawks
Only able to speak in squawks
Cold at night on a hard tree branch
Or a cage(!) should be enough to make anyone blanch
The worst of it (you might think this dumb)
Because most of all I'd miss opposable thumbs.
So instead I thought I'd try a monkey
Really, I thought that would be quite funky...
