First Love (Unrequited 1987)
In those first step days
You gave me your cash point card
Your promise of more to come.
I imagined a summer of picking peas
And stolen kisses
Holding hands in fields
And watching the rain
As we sheltered under bridges
We would be lovers
Your gas cape a maroon tent of happiness
That enveloped me
And I would gaze with wonder
Believing you were the one
