Fever Dreams

Recommend

You are the lightning rod
In my eyes,
A culmination of all my thoughts
And fears
Of the simple truth
And a callused tongue,
Another specimen
But you're such a markéd one,
You grow in my heart
Vines in mortar
I crack and crumble for you
And feast on your attention,
A gala in my spine
My fate is drawn
And you are my string,
I feel you pierce my skin
And I know this has been
My final hunt
And my greatest
Triumph
As a visage I see, I the parishioner
You my steeple and chase,
We'll walk as giants until our limbs
Are green
And our minds
Blending
We rip the universe
Dreams perish
Beneath our feet
And between our teeth
Truth is erased
And meaning is lost
In sleep
