I’ll be waiting
when your years have passed by
with the beautiful birdsong
When sorrow becomes tears of joy

All is forgiven when the light shines
in the choking darkness
I have been a part of the shadows
for many a lifetime

You will not understand
I still want the mornings to be of dew
and the flourishing sun
not the burdens I leave behind

I can reach and touch the skies of azure
which have alluded me for so long
With the rings of leaves upon the open arms
of the tree I lie under
to reminisce

I’ll be waiting
when the rainclouds fade
and the sunlight beckons
When sorrow becomes tears of joy

The End
