Falling Freely

I was falling freely,
I closed my eyes,
The tears slid away into the night.
Your face was branded forever on my mind,
You flooded the final thoughts before I died.

When I first met you,
My voice became a whisper,
I dared not speak louder incase I woke from a dream.
You never knew how often I thought of you,
You made me believe in angels
You pulled heaven down and wrapped it around my shoulders.

I would have given anything
For just one kiss,
I have spent every single second thinking like this.
The heartache hit me, like an iron fist.
Seeing you with him…

I was falling freely,
My eyes closed tight,
My burning tears scorched the night,
Your face branded forever on my mind,
Waiting for the release that came with the ground.

The End
