Fainting
I spent the day with you today
Laughing, and talking , but there's no way you knew
That every time your face would burst into smile
My heart skipped a beat, and then stopped for a while
In those moments I felt like a cloud
Light as the air, and now I'm immune to sound
All I can hear, is your steady slow breaths
And the pitter patter of your heart, deep in your chest
Then all of the sudden, a different beat begins
It's not your heart but mine, and now my head starts to spin
As the world comes into focus, colours reappear
Along with that beautiful face that grounds me here
